Fulfilling the Call

We strategically partner with local leaders around the world to effectively spread the Gospel to the most people in the shortest amount of time.

Evangelism

Our commitment to evangelism is in our name. It is a purposeful daily reminder that this ministry gets out of bed every day to reach souls for Christ. Jesus came to seek and to save the lost. The work that was the closest to His heart is the most comparable to ours.

Currently, there are more than 7.5 billion people globally, and every day more than 150,000 of those precious souls breathe their last breath. Unfortunately, many of those people have not accepted the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ. Some have never even heard it.

The Bible is clear that faith comes from hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God saves the lost, but He uses His people to share the message.

Romans 10:14 says, “How then shall they call on Him whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?”

If believers do not tell the story, it will not be told. Reaching Souls International supports evangelists around the world who go out every day so that others may hear.

We believe in the urgent need for salvation through Jesus Christ. There is no time to waste when it comes to reaching people, so we work strategically and swiftly.

Exploration

“I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” – John 4:35

We are continually looking at the fields, and right now, the fields are ripe. But the harvest has a season, and there is no second chance to harvest the fruit of a ripe crop. Reaching Souls International™ is interested in fruit, and we pursue it through evangelism, discipleship, and church-planting.

For more than thirty years, Reaching Souls has been working in various nations across Africa, Asia, and most recently, Latin America. In each and every location, we work to share the Gospel, equip local leaders, plant churches, and multiply disciples.

Our strategic purpose is to reach the maximum number of people for Christ in the least amount of time in the most efficient way.

If Reaching Souls is about reaching the greatest number of souls possible in the most efficient manner, we must continually assess where that is, and that requires investigation. We are always focused on the importance and effectiveness of exploration and evaluation.

We continually position our resources where the harvest is the greatest, and that may include areas where the harvest is just beginning. It is our goal to continue expanding into new territories, new countries, and new continents.

National Missionaries

Reaching Souls identifies evangelists who have a passion and calling to reach their people for Christ and helps to maximize their impact as missionaries through support, ongoing discipleship, and evangelism training.

These National Missionaries are how we accomplish God’s mission. We believe that empowering local evangelists to preach the Gospel within their communities is the most efficient and effective way to reach souls.

Our National Missionaries are equipped with the local language and the cultural and spiritual context of their people, eliminating barriers that can prevent the spread of the Gospel.

Partnering with local leaders who are relationally connected to their community is not only the most effective way to share the Gospel, but it is also the most affordable. This method is strategic evangelism.

Church Planting

Reaching Souls International was founded on a commitment to evangelism and discipleship, and church planting directly results from those same commitments. Once our National Missionaries identify areas without churches, they begin “preaching points” where regular evangelism takes place. As individuals come to Christ and believers gather together, a new church is quickly established.

Our National Missionaries oversee the new believers until a reproducible and self-sustaining church takes form. These churches will always fall under the denomination of the National Missionary. There are no Reaching Souls churches.

Evangelism and church-plants are the means by which we measure the advancement of The Great Commission, and every year, Reaching Souls sees thousands of churches planted all over the world. This is a direct result of National Missionaries sharing the Gospel and making disciples.

Multiplication is instrumental to the spread of the Gospel, and every church is a place where believers can meet and grow, as they continue to train and multiply disciples who will go on to reach more people for Christ.

Training and
Discipleship

Reaching Souls began with the strategy of training faithful believers who would go on to train others. We believe it will be Africans who reach Africa for Christ, Indians for India, and so on. We still believe it.

2 Timothy 2:2 says, “And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”

We must use the same principles Jesus used. We must turn our converts into disciples. We must make them “fishers of men.”

It isn’t less discipleship, but better discipleship that results in evangelism. Growth by multiplication is much more effective than growth by addition.  Therefore, we disciple for the sake of evangelism.

At Reaching Souls, discipleship primarily takes place through Leadership Development Institutes, the Timothy system, and church planting.

A Leadership Development Institute serves as a time of overseas training, where we gather with local pastors and evangelists and train them in more than 20 core subjects on biblical studies, doctrine, ministry practices, Christian living, and evangelism principles. This hands-on and in-depth approach to discipleship is a simple and reproducible way to train the called and send them home with new skills and renewed vision. And, after we return home, the work continues.

Reaching Souls believes in the importance of one-on-one discipleship, and just as Paul challenged and mentored Timothy, we also encourage our National Missionaries to train and disciple other growing believers.

National Missionaries partner with their own Timothies by pouring into them with their life and wisdom, and as the Timothy continues to grow and mature in Christ, they then share the lessons they have learned with their own Timothy. This is disciples making disciples.

Reaching Souls strategically plants thousands of new churches every year where new believers can meet and grow.
