From the Ashes

A young Zambian woman

We had a youth national conference in Ndola on the 28th of August to the 1st of September 2019. During this conference, we were accompanied by a lady whose family were Jehovah’s Witnesses, and she was a new member of our church.

On Thursday morning, she lost 900 Zambian Kwacha, and at the same time her house was burnt by a fire and all her house belongings were left into ashes. It brought the biggest concern and challenge to the group and to herself. We prayed for her, encouraged her in God’s Word, but it took time for her to understand.

On Sunday, before the end of the conference, we asked the congregation to support the sister who lost ZK 900, and the response was very encouraging.

They supported her with different assorted clothes, ten goats, and 2,500 Zambian Kwacha. When she reached, we invited her parents and relatives, prayed with them, and left the gifts raised from the conference in the hands of her father.

Before we left her home, her parents were in heavy tears. They were not expecting the church to the help their daughter and they immediately thanked God who made it possible for the congregation to support their daughter and they immediately testified from their mouth that, from today, “We give our lives to Christ, and are no longer Jehovah’s Witnesses.” We prayed for them, and thanked God for the newly added and saved souls.
