The Faith of a Fortune Teller
My name is Juvenal and I am a pastor by the grace of God the Father of my Lord Jesus Christ our Savior. I am among the very few chosen and appointed to be a missionary in Burundi to warn people against the doom that is coming very soon upon them if they don’t leave their evil ways and turn back to the living God. This is a brief testimony of what God has been doing in this task which I have been assigned by the Holy Spirit as I serve Him in the ministry. On Saturday, February 15 at 9:15 a.m. I went to a central marketplace to minister to the people. We started by singing a hymnal in Kirundi which translates to “Sweet Hour of Prayer.”
Afterward, one of my colleagues in the ministry, my Timothy prayed and asked the Holy Spirit to take control of the program ahead. Then I preached from the book of Revelation 22:7-16. Just as I was preaching, a man rushed forward, furious as if he wanted to fight me. I looked at him and asked him what he wanted God to do for Him. At those words, he collapsed and fainted. He started foaming and calling on his gods. I could not stop the sermon so some of the men helped my Timothies to bring him aside. He was prayed for and accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
He finally came back to share his testimony about his encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. He said he had been serving the devil since his youth as a fortune teller but that now he has been delivered from Satan’s chains and is determined to from now on only serve Jesus Christ who rescued him. He was immediately baptized along with the 31 new believers who just received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. I told him to join any church nearby that teaches and confesses Jesus Christ as the Son of God and a church that acknowledges the Holy Trinity and he chose to join the Baptist Church of the area.
