Full-Time Position – Exempt

Regular office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and Friday, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Additional hours or work schedule adjustments will be needed during certain events throughout the year.

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Coordinator (HRC) is pivotal in fostering a high-performance environment by leading human resources practices emphasizing quality, productivity, and excellence. This role is the critical link between management and employees, providing expert guidance to Reaching Souls officers and managers on employee relations and HR matters.

The HRC oversees key processes such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, benefits, and offboarding while ensuring the effective use of Reaching Souls’ online HR systems. This position also manages the organization’s policy manuals, personnel files, employee complaint processes, and professional development opportunities.

The HRC must be proactive and organized and understand HR functions, payroll processing, and employment compliance. The HRC is expected to handle confidential information professionally while streamlining administrative processes, optimizing workflows, and enhancing ministry efficiency.

The HRC must think conceptually and possess exceptional organizational and time management skills. The role demands strong interpersonal abilities, effective problem-solving capabilities, and a demonstrated commitment to outstanding employee service. The HRC must work effectively within a ministry-driven, collaborative culture and consistently uphold and embody Reaching Souls’ core values in every interaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Employee Lifecycle Management:
Oversee all employee lifecycle aspects, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, leave management (FMLA), and offboarding.

Compliance and Policy Oversight:
• Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and EEO.
• Conduct regular research on employment laws to maintain Reaching Souls compliance.
• Implement, revise, and enforce company policies as needed.

Employee Relations:
• Serve as the bridge between management and employees, guiding on issues impacting employer-employee relationships.
• Manage formal and informal employee complaint processes, conducting investigations when necessary.
• Foster a Godly, productive ministry culture in collaboration with Reaching Souls officers.
• Advise on employee retention strategies and manage personnel files.

Recruitment and Selection:
• Draft and update job descriptions and prepare job announcements.
• Manage the hiring process, including applicant communications, interviews, and onboarding.
• Oversee employee offboarding protocols and provide suggestions on succession planning.

Compensation and Benefits:
• Negotiate benefits contracts with providers and oversee employee benefits programs.
• Recommend pay scales and benefits packages for new and existing positions.
• Serve as a resource for employees regarding leave policies, paid time off, and sick days.

Performance Management:
• Maintain schedules for performance reviews and manage evaluation forms.
• Advise Reaching Souls officers on performance-related matters as needed.

Learning and Development:
• Arrange training and professional development opportunities for staff.
• Monitor mandatory continuing education requirements and ensure compliance.

Employee Engagement and Culture:
• Foster a positive and inclusive work environment through engagement initiatives, employee surveys, and events.
• Collaborate with the chief of staff on strategic HR initiatives to advance organizational goals and enhance employee experience.

Data and Reporting Management:
• Maintain accurate personnel records and HR systems.
• Generate key reports to support decision-making.

General Administration and Support:
• Serve as a resource for HR-related inquiries and policy questions.
• Assist with coordinating new hire orientations, training sessions, and performance reviews.
• Maintain the internal HR calendar and manage day-to-day HR functions.

Teamwork and Collaboration:
• Support cross-functional projects and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
• Contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven culture aligned with Reaching Souls’ core values.

Qualifications:

Faith Commitment:
• A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a deep commitment to the mission, strategy, and values of Reaching Souls International.

Education and Experience:
• A bachelor’s degree in human resources, management, or a related field is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of relevant HR experience is required.
• A PHR certification or similar credential is a plus.

Attention to Detail:
• Highly detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all HR processes and documentation.

HR Knowledge and Compliance:
• Comprehensive understanding of human resources principles and practices.
• Familiarity with federal and state compliance requirements, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and employment regulations.
• General knowledge of workplace laws and employer/employee rights.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
• Strong interpersonal skills, fostering positive employee relationships and providing excellent employee service.

Organizational and Problem-Solving Skills:
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Proficiency:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience with time and attendance systems and HR management software is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
