A Life Changing Bus Ride
Greetings to you in the wonderful name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I would like to share my story with you that incurred on July 29th, 2024. I went to the hospital, escorting my mother, who was due for her monthly review around 8:00. I boarded a bus from my home to the hospital and took off for the journey. After her review, I took her home and boarded a bus going back home.
While on the bus, I sat with a woman complaining about her daughter. She said that her daughter completed grade 12 and is refusing to go to college. The woman was not happy with the behavior of her daughter and admired other parents’ children who were going to college.
This gave me an opportunity to talk to her. I introduced myself as Regina, a pastor’s wife. I then asked her whether she was a Christian, and her response was yes.
I asked her to share her salvation testimony on how she got saved, and she said that she had no testimony of how she was saved. I shared my salvation testimony with her, and after that, she confessed that she did not know how to receive Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
I shared God’s Word with her from the books of John 3:16 and Romans 3:23. After speaking with her, she said that she would like to receive Jesus Christ in her life. Immediately, she gave her life to the Lord. I then prayed for her and led her to Christ. I encouraged her to continue going to church and told her to surrender her stubborn daughter to the Lord because there is nothing impossible with God, according to Luke 1:37.
Before getting off the bus, I thanked her for the opportunity to speak to her and the decision she made to accept Jesus as her personal Savior. Because the decision she made is an essential decision and it takes the help of the Holy Spirit for one to realize they are not living a good life. I also encouraged her to remain in Christ despite the challenges she might face, for truly, a Christ life is a journey and may not be easy because the devil is not happy with her conversion and will try his best to tempt her to make her depart from the presence of the Lord.
