A New Church Launch
As we approach the end of the year and the start of the planting season for most people, the much-anticipated church launch at a nearby village was a joyful moment. All our invited guests, including our District Administrator in the area and his team, were present.
After all protocols were observed, introducing our esteemed guests to hundreds of people was a historic event. I then led us in praise and worship. People were excited to see the headman and the District Administrator dancing, motivating the congregants. I went on to ask the headman why he was so excited about this event. I was touched to hear that there was no church within the area. People were traveling a distance of 40km to an Anglican Church. The people in the village and surrounding villages were happy about the initiative to start a church in this village.
The people were hungry for the Word. The manner in which the Word was preached left them with no doubt that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. After the preaching we gave the village headman a chance to give note of thanks. He did encourage the villagers to embark on the project of molding bricks to build a proper structure for the church without further delays. It was a welcome idea and the District Administrator pledged to buy food for the brick molders.
We closed the service while people wanted to hear more about God. A total of 20 people were baptized on that day. To God be the glory.
