“Do You Believe This?”
I was out evangelizing from house to house, accompanied by my fellow evangelist, Phillip. It took two hours to reach this village, and we used bicycles to get there. We thank God for giving us good weather that day, and we encountered no obstacles while preaching the gospel.
My Timothy and I arrived at a home belonging to an elder named Pascal. They gave us seats, and we sat down and started conversing, sharing the Word of God from the Gospel according to John 11:25-40, with the theme
“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?'”
After discussing the scripture, we took time to pray. When we finished praying, he looked at me and asked, “What do you do?” I answered that I am an evangelist, doing the work of helping people who are not yet saved to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. He then asked me, “What must I do to accept Jesus?” I shared John 14:6, explaining that Jesus is the only way through which a person can be saved. I also shared Romans 10:9 to help him understand what he needed to do in order to be saved.
After accepting Jesus as his Savior, he then explained to us more about the life he and his wife have lived, that they grew up in a pagan lifestyle involving witchcraft and traditional rituals. Because of this lifestyle, his wife has suffered consequences and now has a disease that left her legs paralyzed.
I kindly ask that you pray for her too, so that she may also receive Jesus as her Savior, so that even if she dies, she will have the hope of eternal life.
We thank God for the acceptance of Jesus as Lord in the household of Pascal.
