Youth Saved

From Gambling to Grace

During my work of evangelism programs which my Timothies and I went door to door to a village close to my own. We felt the power of the Lord to bring the lost souls to Him as we approached a gathering of eight youths who were playing money games at a playground.

At first, when the boys saw us coming towards them, they got to their heels thinking we were private members of the police force but they later realized that we were ordinary people. So, we advised them not to fear and calm down and at the same time introduced ourselves to them and without wasting time I gave them my testimony from when I was a youth until then, highlighting to them some of the dangers of playing such games as I ended up in police custody and receiving some hard beating.

I then spoke to them about our Lord Jesus Christ who is our refuge where we should run to, instead of running away from people. My Timothies explained to the youths about the wages of sin and the free gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ (Rom 6:23). On hearing this Good News, they became eager to know more about Jesus Christ as they asked various questions which we answered solemnly.

I could feel that the power of the Lord was at work because the youths were never aggressive and challenging as this age normally does but they sat down in obedience to the Word who is our Lord Jesus Christ. I discovered that the main reason why they got to doing these dirty games was that their parents were not in full control of their own children, but each one of these youths was willing to learn more about our Lord Jesus Christ so I spoke to them from the book of Matthew 11:28 that those who are burdened shall be given rest only if they believe in Him wholeheartedly.

All the youths repented their sins and accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Since the village was only a kilometer away from mine, I advised them to attend services at my church. A week ago I baptized them as a sign of their repentance and are receiving Biblical teachings every Friday afternoon. I have organized to visit the parents of the youths together with my Timothies the following month in order to share with them the Gospel of the living water, Jesus Christ.

PRAISE THE LORD.
