Hope Showed Up That Night
We give all glory and honor to God for His support and faithfulness during the evangelistic activities carried out in January. We are deeply grateful to the ministry Reaching International for their constant support and guidance in advancing the missionary work.
During this month, five communities were impacted. Seventeen evangelistic events were held, 25 one-on-one contacts were made, and six preaching points were established, where the Word of God was proclaimed with love and courage.
As a result of this work, seventeen people gave their lives to Jesus Christ, and we joyfully celebrated five baptisms, demonstrating lives transformed by the power of the Gospel. Likewise, nine Timothies/leaders continue to be trained and strengthened in the faith, strengthening local leadership.
In particular, this month was marked by testimonies that reflect the spiritual urgency and the need for pastoral accompaniment in the communities. One of these was the encounter with Alexander, a man who was persistently crying out to talk to someone about God. He was going through multiple difficulties and, although he had asked for help on several occasions, he had never received any attention.
At the end of an evangelistic outreach day, the burden arose of traveling to his neighborhood, a place considered dangerous at night and affected by drug addiction. Trusting in God, the decision was made to go, arriving around 9:30 p.m. Alexander received the visit with great joy, expressing that he didn’t believe anyone would actually come, since he had insisted in the past without getting a response.
Although there were several people in his house, he wanted to speak privately, so we decided to go outside, even amidst the risk, with the sole purpose of listening to him and leading him to Jesus Christ for salvation. In that same area, amidst the cold and on a street corner, we also had the opportunity to minister to a young couple.
Upon being attended to and listened to, both were deeply touched by the presence of God, breaking down in tears. The message of Christ was shared with them, and they were committed to beginning a spiritual process of restoration and healing, trusting that the Lord will complete the work He has begun in their lives.
We give thanks to the Lord because, although no new churches were established this month, we saw spiritual growth, the consolidation of leadership, and hearts transformed by His grace. We continue to move forward with faith, commitment, and love for souls, believing that God will continue to work powerfully and add to His church those who are to be saved.
