Not by Power, Not by Might, But by Spirit

Glory to God Jehovah. I am saved and serve my Lord as a pastor at a church in my district. God has also honored me by appointing me as an evangelist, going here and there to announce the Good News of Jesus Christ, bringing back the lost souls to His Kingdom. God’s grace has been so abundant to me as He selected me among the so many who were interviewed to enjoy His blessings within the Reaching Souls International in Burundi! I am not the best evangelist, but I can claim that He wanted to support me through those of you in the United States of America who have decided to do something among His servants.

The reason why I take this opportunity to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I am also privileged to take this time to thank you all who pray day and night for us as you know and understand this is a hard task. May the Lord God bless you according to His riches in heaven. I am hereby delighted to share with you what the Almighty God is doing through me as I serve Him. “Not by power, not by might, but by spirit, says the Lord.” Whatever His word says, He fulfills.

This is my short testimony that I am sharing with my readers. On Monday, November 13th, 2023, I went to preach at the local hospital. I cannot say that it was really preaching but it was a kind of evangelizing and praying for the patients. On one bed was laying a 23-year-old young girl whose mother had wished her to marry a rich man but the girl was already in love with a young boy of her age, but he was very poor. The doctor had found out the girl had taken poison to kill herself for not marrying the one she loves! Her mother was also there. I asked the mother: “Do you want happiness for your daughter?” “Yes,” she answered me. “Will her happiness be yours?” She answered me “Yes.” “ If she dies now, will you be happy?” She wept. I told her that her tears cannot save her daughter.

I read her the Scriptures from Acts 2:38 which says, “ Repent, Peter said to them, and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” In fact, both the two were sinners and needed to repent. After their confession of faith, I prayed for the young lady and immediately she vomited and vomited until the mother thought she might die! Finally, she was cured. The next morning, she was released from the hospital and the boy that she loved came to take them home. They will get married within two months. Praise be to God. Amen.
