Spiritually Alive
One day, one of my Timothies and I traveled by bike to preach to a nearby village.
When we reached the village, we started our work by visiting homes and sharing Christ with people. We walked to at least four homes that morning. We stepped into the number five home, where we found more people gathered together as if there was a funeral.
When we came closer, we discovered that their relative was ill. The people did not chase us away; instead, we received a warm welcome, and we thanked God for this.
First of all, I thanked them for welcoming us. Next, we introduced ourselves to them, and thirdly, I asked the name of the one who was sick. They told me that her name was Ruth.
I started preaching and the sick person was listening. I was sharing with them on how one can become a follower of Jesus Christ and showed them who are followers of Jesus Christ. We read the scripture from the book of 1 John 1:8-9.
When I finished sharing, the sick person said I have been sick for two and a half years. I am now blessed for your coming with this message, and today I want Jesus Christ to be my Savior. What can I do she asked. I said Jesus Christ is faithful to save you. Therefore, you need to believe, confess, and repent according to Romans 10:9.
When she heard this, she cried out loud and confessed Jesus Christ and repented of all her sins. Thereafter, I prayed over her and all the people who were there. So we proceeded to other homes, and finished our work in the afternoon, then we went back.
After three days, I received a message of condolence from her relatives saying Ruth was dead and had already been buried. When I heard this message, I was sad in life as a human, but spiritually I was happy thinking that she received Christ already before her death.
May the Lord God be praised.
