Sweet Results from a Heavy Rain
One early week, the rain wasn’t very heavy. I went to meet a friend to keep my promise, but when I arrived, they weren’t there. I planned to visit another location, but the rain became heavier, so I decided to turn back.
On the way home, the tide was high, and the water was deep. I struggled to keep my small Wave motorcycle steady. When trucks passed by, the splashing water and waves almost swept my bike away. At the same time, a young woman on a scooter nearby laughed in sympathy. I noticed she was wearing the uniform of an automotive parts company—the same company where my child works—so I immediately felt a connection.
When we reached the higher, less flooded road, I started a conversation:
• “Do you work at the company in the export processing zone?”
• “Yes, I do.”
• “My child works there too, in the office.”
• “Oh really? I work in the factory. It’s hard work.”
We quickly became acquainted. She seemed more comfortable with me after knowing my child worked at the same company. She gave me her phone number, and we agreed to meet again.
The second time I met her was at a sidewalk café, where I shared the Gospel with her. On Sunday, October 12, I invited her to join the service at Hope Baptist Church. She attentively listened to the message delivered by the pastor:
“Each of us is like a traveler on this earth. When our journey ends, we cannot take with us anything we have labored for. But each person will give an account of their deeds before the White Throne of God…”
She had already heard my testimony about the redemption of Jesus and had also studied the materials I gave her. Hearing the Word of God shared by the pastor touched her heart through the Holy Spirit. After the message, she willingly went forward, and the pastor guided her in prayer to accept Jesus as her Savior.
Praise the Lord! When our hearts are ready, even through storms and rain, after the rain comes sweet and beautiful results.
