Meeting The Lost Where They Are
Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I would like to share my story with you. It was on Thursday afternoon after I finished teaching the women at our church. I decided to go and visit those who did not come to church for the Bible study. On my way, a young man called me and said to me, “It’s hot! Mama Pastor, where are you going?” I said to him, “I am going somewhere, but let me come and talk to you where you are.
Thereafter, I went and found 6 of them near a bar. So, I greeted them, and one of them said, “We want to drink beer.” I said, “Before you start drinking, do you know that God loves you so much, my brothers?” I went on to tell them that Jesus died for you and me. One of them said, “Jesus died for us?” I said, “Yes, my brother. He wants you to repent. He wants you to receive Him as your Lord and personal Savior.” I opened the Bible in the book of John 3:16, which says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” I preached the Word of God to them, and they were happy to hear that God loves them the way they are.
I said to them the Bible says in John 1:12 that, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave them power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe in His name.” I said believe in Jesus my brothers, and at that same time, I led them to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal Savior. I invited them to come to our church, and two of them are in baptism class. For the other four, I encouraged them to go to the nearest church where they lived.
Glory be to God Almighty. Amen
