Mr V

Waiting to Hear the Good News

This month, I visited three villages to share the Gospel. Two men whom I am discipling accompanied me.

In one village, we visited the family of Mr.V and told them about Jesus. After about two hours of conversation, Mr. V’s wife and children decided to place their faith in Christ, but h. e was not yet willing. His wife and children began to cry and pleaded with him to listen and join them in believing in Jesus. They spoke of their suffering and their desire for the whole family to follow Him.

We continued explaining that only Jesus, who died in our place, can save us from our sins. We shared the teaching of John 14:6. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. After listening further, V became willing to receive Christ. The three of us then led the family in a prayer to place their faith in Him.

Afterward, V’s wife smiled and told us that she and her children had wanted to follow Jesus for a long time, but no one had guided them. She was overjoyed that we had brought the good news to their family that day and said that she believed her family had come out of darkness. She then prepared a meal for us to share.

After the meal, we prayed for the family and headed home. Along the way, I kept thinking about how many people are still waiting to hear the Good News. I was very glad to have a part in helping this family come to faith in Christ. The visit reminded me that many people still need someone to share the Gospel with them and help them follow Jesus.
